Dick has represented public libraries in Michigan for nearly 30 years. He actively participated in the drafting of the District Library Establishment Act enacted in 1989 and represents more than 30 public libraries throughout Michigan including district libraries, county libraries, township libraries, city libraries, and village libraries. He has been a speaker at many library conferences over the years, including the Library of Michigan’s New Directors Workshop, Advanced Directors Workshop, and the Beginning Workshop. These presentations have covered a variety of topics, including library millages, Internet access, the Library Privacy Act, and library policies.

Dick graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in 1980 and magna cum laude from Indiana University in 1977. In addition to representation of libraries, Dick has extensive experience in municipal law, having served as the City Attorney for the City of Walker for over 20 years, the Bowne Township Attorney for over 20 years, and the Sparta Township Attorney for nine years. Dick has also represented Kent County in a variety of matters including elections, solid waste, water/sewer, and general civil matters.
